Patch Changes

  • eebf9a6: withRedaction now redacts a DOMException, such as the TimeoutError or AbortError that AbortSignal.timeout() and an aborted fetch reject with. Copying one threw TypeError: Attempted to assign to readonly property., because its name and message are getter-only accessors on the prototype. The record was then dropped, or, with onFailure: 'forward', shipped unredacted.

  • eebf9a6: createLogger now applies preset and validates its options, as the plugin does. It ignored the preset, so createLogger({ preset: 'prod' }) shipped records without autoRedact, and an unknown preset was accepted.

A custom log that head sampling drops no longer takes the request’s access line with it. The access line was suppressed as soon as the custom log passed logFilter, so with sampling.head: { INFO: 0 } a handler that called log.info() and returned a 503 logged nothing at all. A custom log now replaces the access line only when it is written, or when the tail verdict replays it.

  • eebf9a6: The OTLP and HyperDX transports now send a whole number outside the safe-integer range as doubleValue. As intValue it became a string such as "1e+21" that the collector cannot parse as an int64, which failed the whole request.

  • eebf9a6: Rotation retention now deletes only the log’s own archives. A file counted as an archive of app whenever its name started with app. and ended in a rotation timestamp, so with maxFiles set, rotating logs/app deleted the archives of logs/app.error in the same directory, and user files such as app.bak.<timestamp>. The whole suffix after the log’s name must now be the timestamp.
